Re: Anime!

Higurashi is good, although I prefer the first season to the second since some of the creepy atmosphere is lost after the important plot points get revealed. Has anyone watched Monster? It's about a German neurosurgeon who operates on a boy who becomes a serial killer. 74 episodes is long and it's s...

Re: Ubuntu Gutsy

I've been wanting to migrate from Windows XP for a while now, although I'm kind of paranoid about something going wrong during the installation... I have a new laptop that hasn't been used yet, so I might try a clean install on that instead of mucking around with a dual boot on this desktop. Well, t...

I didn't watch a lot of anime in the past, but as for the stuff I've seen recently... Azumanga Daioh was excellent, and I thought Death Note was very good as well. Lucky Star was basically a miniature Azumanga, but not quite as good. Serial Experiments Lain was alright despite being completely abstr...

If you're considering Sega CD, Snatcher is a must play. Lords of Thunder is decent as well, but mainly notable for its soundtrack. As for the Genesis itself, some moderately obscure stuff... Thunder Force III, Lightening Force, M.U.S.H.A. and Gley Lancer are nice shmups. Strider, Mega Turrican, Alis...

The Black Mages, Actraiser Symphonic Suite and the Konami Battle series are some of my favorite arranged stuff.

Azumanga Daioh

Does anyone here like this series? I haven't read the manga, but I got into the animated show last week and have watched all but two episodes so far. It has lots of funny moments, although I'm drawn to Osaka in particular. Almost everything she does in the later episodes makes me laugh, especially o...

Summer Carnival '92 Recca - I'd wish anyone trying to find a physical copy of this game good luck, as that would be needed... Having said that, this is a very intense shmup; quite possibly the fastest game on the NES. It's worth looking for if anyone has an emulator handy and enjoys Cave style shmup...

I'm quite sure that there was no ascension two years a go... sorry for the multipost...

Well, that was just a fuzzy guess as to when I joined. It was probably more recent than that in reality, as I distinctly remember ascending after defeating the Naughty Sorceress.

I played this about two years ago and ascended a couple times, but the other people in my clan got meat and items so much faster than me that it ended up becoming somewhat dull. My account has been deleted for a long while now.

First class choice was a Pastamancer I believe...

I particularly enjoy the fact that the "Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America" article is longer than the actual "Engineering" article. Or half the other articles on the site for that matter.

I had 800 in Math, 710 in Reading and 700 in Writing. Of course, I only scored 6/12 on the essay, which, like every other standardized essay, had a completely inane topic. I personally don't think the test measures much of anything effectively, although very low scores are probably more accurate ind...

Cave Story is a platform game with a similar style to Castlevania or Metroid. It's slightly short, but fun, and even has some hidden things that people might miss the first time through. No hotlinks before 10 posts! -L

I voted "East Asian", but then I realized that I only like cantonese food, or at least Americanized "Chinese" food. This is true of me, although I think I prefer Thai noodles even more. Sadly, I have no idea what people in China or Thailand actually eat on a daily basis. Italian...

Oregon Trail was mentioned; I certainly remember playing that in grade school, shooting way more buffalo than the wagon could possibly carry back, sinking in rivers and dying of dysentery repeatedly. There was some theme park sim game with dinosaurs which I completely forgot the name of... And Mario...

I took European and US History and Calc AB already and got 5 on all three. This year was Calc BC and English Language, which I just had today. I didn't think either one was particularly difficult, but I'm more confident I pulled off a 5 on Calc. Sadly, those that I mentioned were just about the enti...

I'm a 17 year old male from Chicago, turning 18 in a month. I recently finished high school and will become a CS major at the University of Illinois, although not necessarily this fall.
