Need to convert MYSQL varchar date to DATE in a table

I have inherited a table unfortunately that has over 400k+ records.. All of the dates in said table are stored as a varchar with the format: MM-DD-YYYY Is there anyway I can convert the field to a DATE field, without losing all of my data? I can use PHP to accomplish this also if a straight query wo...

I would suspect that its a leftover from some virus that was removed from your system that redirected google. - You could check your HOSTS file (but I doubt it would be here) - Check your internet options on your control panel and see if it is listed under restricted (but firefox should ignore this)...

If you are its under your windows control panel.

I don't know for other operating systems. Also its possible that this config would persist across reinstalls.

You can use western digital's diag tool.

The linux ultimate boot disk http://www.ultimatebootcd.com has it, or you could download it from western digital.
It can tell you if there is a S.M.A.R.T error, or possibly something that can be fixed.

You could always get a free template and pick a webhost.

If you decide to go that route I would suggest DreamHost, I have used many many hosts for various clients.
That are 100% the best imo.

It could also be a heat issue with your laptop thats causing it.

You could try to clean out the fan etc, although just blowing a can of air into the exhaust just tends to pack more direct/debris into the fan itself.

You can make sure the firewall on your router and computer is not blocking that port also.

I ended up having to setup a DMZ pointing to my computer for a few applications.
