Re: 1756: "I'm With Her"

From my perspective (a left-wing European) it appears that many Americans want the freedom to impinge on the rights of others. To me that doesn't appear to be freedom as it restricts one, or, usually, more people to increase the benefit to another, so is, in fact, a reduction in freedom. If everyon...

The standard GIT gui is fine, you don't need the github one specifically. But FUCK learning command line arguments. I can't believe anyone would go for that.

Re: batch to bash translation

Just for those who accidentally stumble across this in google while searching on how to do this automatically... it doesn't work. TO save you some time compiling, it doesn't work. Okay? Errors out on every single script I've thrown at it. Here's some links that will help you instead: http://tldp.org...

Really?

There's no repetition there. Each section is both necessary and relevant to it's own section.

Quite frankly, getting antsy over formatting is pretty silly.

Re: POST YOUR MUSIC HERE and actually Listen too! (Rules in

Thanks man. I can't count the number of synths I use or in what proportion, but they're mostly freeware, with a few payware like Cameleon- which I love - I also used to use a lot of sample-based stuff - a couple of the tracks are from as far back as 2001/2002 :) My korg x5 got used for the main soun...

Pretty damn impressive po6ept. Lead female could be replaced. But otherwise massive metal mix. Would've liked to here a little more (more gain) bass guitar and strings. Lacked glue in that sense. What're you using for amp/guitar? Here's my album as mentioned in the other thread: http://exolve.bandca...

Mediafire has, and always has, worked incredibly well. None of the problems he's mentioned.

Yay. This. Very happy. I have CFS, and people DO NOT get it - it's a very vulnerable, shitty place to be in, for years on end. Worse is the fucked up hippies that tell you it's all your own karmic/mental/psychological problem. Fuck them.

I recommend The age of Spiritual Machines by Ray Kurzweil.
Paranoid and slightly freaky futurism by someone who actually has some tenure in the subject.

Re: Music Bitrates

Personally, I think the encoder and decoder are as important as the bitrate. A 128kbps mp3 encoded in itunes != a 128kbps mp3 encoded lame. Winamp != Apollo (particular when 24-bit). I prefer lossless, but you only hear it if you have decent speakers. And by that I mean speakers you didn't buy in a ...

Re: How did you find your last kick ass band?

Need for Speed underground 2 - found Skindred. WHich led me onto three albums, all of which are great.
For a band that sounds like a more commercial Korn with a lead singer that sounds like if Shaggy could sing, from wales, I'd say they're alright.
