Re: 1766: "Apple Spectrum"

For those looking to find Honeycrisp (or any other variety) in the US (or several other countries), this website shows a map of orchards that grow them . Based on that map Pennsylvania is currently being smothered by Honeycrips Orchards. So now I'm thinking I've probably had them before (likely sev...

Re: 1766: "Apple Spectrum"

I have never heard of honeycrisp apples before. My first instinct was that it was a joke about some kind of cereal or something.
Now I'm just a little bit saddened that apparently I've been deprived of the best apples the world has to offer. I'll have to try some someday.

2016 - 18 = 1998. A person born in 1998 would have been two or three years old on September 11th. Perfectly plausible for them to not remember the event itself. Hell, my earliest memories (that I can confirm) are from when I was four. Granted, they'd still likely remember everyone talking about for ...

Darn it, Frankenstein! Now the scientific community will never take you seriously. Looks like I'll have to start over, make another Frankenstein but this time I'll use the brain of someone with a PHD.

Yes... he will be Dr. Frankenstein!

If our current civilization lasts another 8,000 years, it's probably fair to assume the Long Now Foundation got things right, and at some point we started listening to them and switched to five-digit years. Though come to think of it, if this machine is only reversing time's flow while it's on then that's an odd switch. Typically a switch like that is OFF for every position other than flipped all the way up. Yet the time machine reverts the switch back to all the way down. So that switch is weirdly dif...

I think for the purpose of 'understandability' (by which of course I mean comedic effect masquerading as understandability) Randall used 'Up Goer' as a replacement for rocket. Saturn was probably omitted because translating it as, 'The world which which we aren't going to with stuff around it Five U...

So what I learned from this is that MPG is a hilarious unit of measurement when misapplied. For example, if based on Randall's logic 20 MPG = 0.1 mm 2 = 2 pixels. Then a single pixel is equivalent to 10 MPG. Thus my 1920 x 1080 monitor (2073600 pixels total) manages to just exceed a whopping 20 mil...

Either use your bed back in your dorm, fold against the pull of gravity, or just accept the wrinkles as they are.
