I laughed at this comic. I'm actually sitting with calculus homework in front of me right this second.

I really have no excuse for holding the game up this long. Sorry guys. Slight issues opening the save but I'm sorting it out now. (Biggles, check your inbox.)

I've been loving the BtS early game so much (Pacal!), I can't bring myself to knuckle down and play through to the new gunpowder units, corps, etc. :D

Re: Dungeons and Dragons (and other tabletop RPGs)

SexxxyTalon, if you manage to find that article, will you please point me at it? Sounds like a good read. Since I'm designing a campaign setting, I'd like to better understand the way the game is put together. That article on TheAlexandrian about 'calibrating your expectations' (Google it) was an ex...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons (and other tabletop RPGs)

By the same token, requiring lots of skill ranks also favours humans (particularly if the skills in question are cross-class, which is when it becomes really expensive to take skills you wouldn't otherwise just so you can take the PrC). Gnomes have bonuses to alchemy, but I can't see how that can be...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons (and other tabletop RPGs)

Fair enough. (I sort of did, already, but didn't realise that's what I was doing.) Anyone else? EDIT: Actually, Maseiken, you make a great point there, because I would think a Bard (having a taste for the exotic) still more likely to take up the class than a Wizard. I think you just pretty much solv...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons (and other tabletop RPGs)

Background: I am in the midst of designing a Gun Mage prestige class for my own campaign setting (the three classes of that name that I've found on the intarwebz don't agree with me, but the flavour does!) and I need some help on prerequisites. My take on the Gun Mage is a very wild sort of combata...

Re: I need a Game Recommendation (Recently renamed)

Hey all, I'm looking to buy a new PC game and am trawling for suggestions. I generally prefer RTS/TBS games or FPS with a strong strategy element. I like RPGs as well, preferably ones with good multiplayer. High replayability is important. To give you an idea, my two favorite games of recent years ...

Re: Describe a game you think would be awesome

Let's pretend that I have no idea what a Death Note is nor why anyone should care. You're describing a game in which you ask people's names, and eventually someone notices you doing this and comes after you? I... am not so sure I understand where this game is going. Also.. Shinigamis? I'm assuming ...

Re: Civilization IV Vanilla PBEM

I figured I'd ask anyway. I leave home for college at 07.00 and get back around 17.00; but since I only go to bed at 00.00, that potentially leaves enough time for the game to make a round trip back to me. I thought if all of you had similar situations, it could work. But no matter, if we just regul...

Animals can't enter borders, and I haven't seen a Warrior yet (though if one appears, I'm fucked anyway - can't whip a defender in time to save my capital). Though I heard recently that there is also a time limit before barbarians will enter your borders. Not sure how long.
