iPod Touch 4th Gen screen fix

I recently dropped my iPod. The LCD screen is fine, but the touch panel isn't at all. I just phoned a company that sells replacement parts and can ship them to me very fast. It's $40 for the LCD and $40 for the touch panel. However, the man on the other side is telling me that in the fourth generati...

Bad Pool Header when installing RAM

I just bought 2 1 gig sticks of ram to replace the 512 mb sticks in my computer. I've got this one right here- http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3887561&CatId=2629 I chose that site because it specifically mentions what kind of RAM it has- "It also ca...

Re: Favorite Time Signatures

The key signature tells you what key the piece is in. If I read say 1 sharp in the key signature, then I will instinctively say that the piece is in G major or E minor, then I check for the accidentals and focus note to determine which key is it in. Very important for pieces which does have a key (...

Yeah, even the Staples website is listing it as the regular price. The slim model had slashes near it's name, which normally means it's being discontinued, so I don't know what's going on there.

What the hell, Xbox?

Alright, so I work at Staples in Canada. Today, a customer wanted to know what we had in the way of Xbox 360 consoles. I told him the whole schebang, but because we had not price tags for the Xbox's for some reason, I couldn't tell him the price off hand for some of them. So he told me that he happe...

I'd be tapping my foot 6 times per measure in 6/8. And if every note in that bar of 6/8 was a quarter note, then I would probably would tap it three times. Tell me, if you're listening to a piece of music, can you honestly tell the difference between 3 quarter notes in 3/4 and 6/8? Here's a more cl...

I know that, and if it were being played in band class or something, that would matter, but to the average listener, there's little difference. So you're saying that the "average listener" cannot tell the difference between the rhythms of the blues and the waltz? I think you're underestim...

Did you really enjoy Wheezy's cover of Don't Haunt This Place more than the original? No offence to the guy, but he's pretty plain. I enjoy Nil's voice a lot more. And I can kinda see what you mean about his voice. The first time I heard them, I didn't like it very much, but I really liked some of t...

Okay, this is really out on a limb here, but hear me out. There's this post-hardcore band from my town, called Desiderata. They scream a little bit. Now, typically, I don't like bands with screaming in them, but Desi are a little different. I've always thought that his screaming singing sounded like...

In Stamp by the Rural Alberta Advantage, 1:38ish is when they break off of this really powerful chorus into this slowly building section, and at 2:25 when the cymbals kick in, it just all comes together in a way that makes me air drum every time I hear it.

Departing Is the newest release by Canadian indie rock band The Rural Alberta Advantage. Most other signatures just sound bad, or can be broken down into one of the more simpler ones, such as 12/8 into 6/4, or 6/8 into 3/4. Ow! Music theory fail! 12/8 and 6/8 are compound time signatures. If you're going to 'break them down' into a simple time signature 12/8 becomes 4/4, and 6/8 become...

Alright, I need help solving what is probably an easy problem. I need to rationalise the numerator of

((1/√x)-1)/(x-1)

I tried multiplying by ((1/√x)+1)/((1/√x)+1), but it just made a mess of the denominator.

In Alberta, grade 12 math is split into Math 30 and Math 31. Math 30 includes statistics, trig, conics, logs, and perms and combs. 31 is Calculus.

What is a good paying job, as far as you are concerned? 70k per year by the time I'm 30 sounds like a decent wage to me. You don't necessarily need a degree before getting into medicine. Mostly I just like 4/4. I find that lots of time people use convoluted time signatures just for the sake of using them. Or use them when it would be easier to use 4/4. Or just write something that sounds really bad. Other than 4/4, 3/4 is a good time signature, it's easy enough to use that people ha...
