I was trying to find the mentioned paper by G. Hoffmann, but it's nowhere to be found. The ONLY source I can find searching for the title is the exact same paper. How disappointing! However, I found the cited paper "Grenzwerte der Klimaelemente auf der Erde" by G. Hellmann which can be fou...

'Stick-shift,' - that would just be a normal car in the UK. Meaning I predict a small but measurable correlation between being able to drive a stick-shift and it raining when the person was taking the survey :) Actually anywhere in Europe, I would say. seems like Philae is laying sideways. or only two of three feets are touching the ground. also, it doesn't get enough sunlight which reduces the time it can be used.

edit: scientists also say that the harpooning mechanism was activated, but the harpoons didn't fire/release.

Re: 1446: "Landing"

With Philae that was not so sure. The comet is less than 10 km in size and has very little gravity. Both factors mean that bouncing was really dangerous. I assume they programmed the Philae software to try and land again if it bounces. That software worked. That is an achievement, because many fact...
