Necroing this thread to say that the Fighting Illini are now 4-0 for the first time in 60 years. Today's game wasn't pretty, but hey, it's still a win. Here's hoping they get their shit together for our first conference game next week.

Place incentives on successful convictions So basically, you suggest creating an additional system which works the same way as the existing system to be placed on top of the existing system? What the system needs are dis incentives for wrongful arrests/convictions, not another layer of bureaucratic...

It seems that in Indiana, the police don't even have to go to the trouble of making up a bullshit cause. And an Indiana Sheriff pulls the old "Well, if you have nothing to hide, you have no reason to be afraid of police randomly searching your house." The fucking Bill of Rights, how does ...

Here is the relevant part of the Illinois criminal code, and, after going back and re-reading it, it appears to be more ambiguous than I thought it was, but it could be easily interpreted either way. In the case of a trial by jury, it would in no way surprise me if the jury interpreted the law to me...

There are, however, jurisdictions in which the legal definition of rape requires that the victim be penetrated (such as the state of Illinois; there are probably others, too, but I'm only familiar with the local laws). In such jurisdictions, unwanted (by the male) PIV sex would be classified as sexu...
