Re: Tricky Counting Problem, any ideas?

Guys, I think it's simpler than you're making it. Check this out. I think the answer is just 11C4 = 330. The reason? Imagine choosing 5 out of 11 with no restrictions. Then, just put one more toothpick between each set of consecutive toothpicks. That is, if I choose these 5 out of 11 (x's are the on...

Re: "xkcd Loves the Discovery Channel" discussion

I kept scaring people at work by singing both versions of the song while dancing. I just hope my boss doesn't find out... Just tell him/her that your code is compiling. 3) The song plays at (roughly) 120bpm, and although I can change the tempo of your voice, it would be nice if you sang it around t...

Actually, I made it myself. It's a MIDI file, but I can't upload .mid files, so I changed the extension to .mp3.

CHANGE THE FILE EXTENSION TO .mid after you download it so that it will work.

Re: "xkcd Loves the Discovery Channel" discussion

So I made a video for this comic. I added the astronauts talking at the beginning and a couple of extra frames at the end. Without further ado, I present to you, "I Love XKCD." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAasManZ6IA Also, here's the mp3 audio file that I used. It's more or less the sa...

Re: "xkcd Loves the Discovery Channel" discussion

So I love the animated GIF, but I think the frames are a bit too fast. The panels switch every 1.5 seconds, and I tried singing along, and I had to sing really really fast. I changed it to 1.8 or 1.85 sec, and I think this one syncs with the YouTube video a bit better. Also, I've attached my renditi...

Most frustrating: Contra...some version or another. You are in the sky (1) trying to destroy a helicopter looking thingy (2) while it is shooting at you and you are (3) hanging onto moving missiles and you have to (4) drop off of each missile before it hits the aforementioned helicopter looking thin...

For some reason that reminds me of the super-silly turns that you can get in Fluxx. I played in an 8-person game that lasted an hour and a half, and it finally ended when I played "x = x+1," which increases the numerals on all cards by 1, then played "Everybody gets 1," which wa...
