Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

This was a dangerous comic to read after a few drinks.

Re: 0858: "Milk"

Well. Uh. Yes. Actually I'd even prefer a partner who doesn't associate babies stuff with sex since I find babies not very arousing, as probably mentioned before. There was a feature on 20/20 (or some similar evening news program, I forget) about women coming to orgasm while giving birth. Because w...

Even if you were never inducted into the pen 15 club, come on! Eight year olds can figure it out, why can't you?

Brilliant comic. A nice nod to childhood antics grown up.

Re: 0435: "Purity"

Physics isn't just applied math. It involves the USE of math, sure, in its more quantitative varieties, (so do economics and other fields not in the physical sciences) but also involves concepts that math in and of itself does not lead to. (Ie. Forces, energy, etc...) I think this scale would have ...

Re: On eating meat, vegetarianism, veganism, etc.

I hear this argument, all the time, of animals lacking intrinsic value and only having instrumental value. I honestly don't believe that anyone (even those using it) really buys it. If we took an example of a human, completely removed from society making literally no contribution, would it be accep...

Re: Is pornography only for people over 18?

The age restriction has its purpose. It allows prosecution in cases when an obvious wrong has occurred (the passing out porn to 9 year olds example) and in cases that are still skeevy (like an adult sending images of their naughty bits to a 16 year old they met in a chat room). I've never heard of a...

Re: On eating meat, vegetarianism, veganism, etc.

Let's investigate this justification with respect to the concept of equality. My definition of equality does not mean all humans are equal or should be treated indistinguishably. it means that all humans are equal in fundamental worth or moral status, and should therefore be treated with equal dign...

This comic made me larf. I think I'll share it with some of my less geek-oriented colleagues.

Re: 0836: "Sickness"

This "comic" is terribly arrogant. There's no joke here, just Randall acting smug. How is he being smug? Not every comic has to make you lol, that certainly hasn't been the case in the history of this site. I imagine this is a reaction to something that has actually been said to him since...

Re: 0836: "Sickness"

(severe illness + prayer) < (severe illness + science) ≤ (severe illness + science + prayer)

But really, even the benefits of prayer/similar non-scientific means of healing have at least proposed scientific explanations.
