Problem with OpenGL

I don't know if this is the right place for this (it's a homework problem), but I'm kinda desperate, so I thought I'd ask. I'm taking an intro to game programming class, and I'm running into some problems with Space Invaders. Rather than rendering any of the sprites, the program is only rendering a ...

Re: Looking for a smartphone.

Which network would you recommend? Verizon seems to have the best coverage, but they're also the most expensive. I haven't heard good things about sprint or AT&T. The nexus 4 seems to be off the table, as there's little point in considering it if I can't actually buy it.

Re: Looking for a smartphone.

I'm currently on net10 (If that is actually a net work, I'm really out of my element here), but I don't have a problem switching networks.

Reddit told me the same thing with regards to the nexus 4.

Looking for a smartphone.

I have recently come into the idea that it is tie to upgrade my phone situation from my current Samsung t401g. However, I'm completely lost as to which kind of phone to get. My budget is on the lower end (around $150), and i live and work in and around New York City. Right now the iPhone 4S is the l...

Good to see a return of Randall's future child! Was this before or after he programmed her speech centers to shut down when she got upset?

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

For some reason, me, my friend, and a couple of our teachers were discussing Peruvian runners. My friend said they were the best in the world; something to do with lung capacity. I retaliated with: "Then how come they've never won the Olympics?" (bad argument, I know, but it was all I coul...

Re: The Character X Versus Character Y Thread

I've been having a similar argument with a friend of mine over who would win if Doctor Manhattan faced off against The Doctor. I find there rare pretty good justifications for both sides, but everyone I've asked immediately sides with The Doctor. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I lack the rigorous training most of you have in the weird bits of physics that do magic, so the only thing that came to mind when he said "quantum locking" was "Don't blink. Don't blink. Don't blink."

Re: Steamed Potato ARG

Yeah, I saw this the day after it started and have been loosely following it. I think this thing is how the rumor got started that said Valve was going to release Portal 2 on the 15th and not the 19th. There are some clues to suggest that. As stated here: http://valvearg.com/wiki/Emails_from_Gabe_N...

Steamed Potato ARG

For those of you that are not aware, in March of 2010, valve engaged in an alternate reality game, involving sneakily inserted data and clever codes, ultimately resulting in the announcement of Portal 2. Information on the original ARG can be found here: http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/ARG Now, it's...

It's economics. Max heads and earbuds are very rare, and they will not make any more. They are valuable on the virtues of their limited supply.

Are you using the normal medigun? Or the Kritzkrieg? You shouldn't have to hold the right mouse and it should deploy instantly. I use the heal gun that builds up uber 25% faster. Best xkcd app?

The other day, when visiting the itunes app store I decided to seach "xkcd" to see what would come up. I was then ambushed by no fewer than five applications, all claiming to be the "best xkcd reader available". Looking at the app pages, i have been unable to discern any signific...

Re: Excise a decade from the 20th century

I chose the 1910's, mainly because of WWI and the treaty of versailles, which is generally considered a major cause of WWII. Second place is the 1950's, mainly because the propaganda films shown in my U.S. history class were some of the scariest things I have ever seen in my entire life.

Re: I need a Game Recommendation

I recently acquired a PS3. It came with the standard entourage of FPS's (COD, BC2), so I think that genre has been saturated for now. I'm considering getting Super Street Fighter 4, as it seems that will get me the most bang for my buck, due to its lower-than-average price. However, my fighting game...
