I got semi-abs by a. writing down what I ate and keeping it moderate (when I don't do this I just subsist on candy) b. weighted situps, hanging leg raises, and ordinary free weight stuff (like squats) that works your core indirectly. It seems silly to me to try to get abs without exercising any othe...

Re: Need Advice, Will Post Progress

Good for you sticking with it. Your food is healthy but actually eat it! A few thoughts: BMI is bunk; doesn't take into account how much muscle you have. Bf% is more useful, though if it's bad for you mentally to know that, then just let it be. At 20% you're quite fit. You are damn good at the weigh...

Re: Wanting to develop some muscle (biceps)

Well, the question is, whether you just want to hold the instrument, or if this is an underhanded way of saying you want to be more muscular. If it's the first, just practice your instrument! (More than 20 min a day, says former first-chair clarinet.) If you're secretly tempted to get in shape overa...

Re: Do I have a disorder?

People with eating disorders have a disordered relationship with food. From your first post, it doesn't sound like you do -- you don't mention deliberately starving yourself. You just lost weight by accident. If there's more wrong than you're letting on, talk to someone better placed than us. (Frien...

I hope some more experienced people can chime in (I'm not an expert either on the exercise or the psychological stuff) but I'll try to help. For example: is this a good idea? I think it looks cool, personally.

Phpbb uses [url] for tags, rather than <a href="felstaff.com">... Think of it as when Pepsi rebranded back to their 1930s design: simpler to look at, but does the same job.

Re: The Official Running thread!

There's a great state park along a canal near where I go to school; beautiful woods, foxes, bald eagles, herons, beavers. Nice soft dirt, and not too much traffic if you go out far enough. But the best trail running I've ever been on is in Ithaca, NY; there are hills at 45-degree hills and waterfalls.

It's really questionable whether the Community Reinvestment Act triggered our financial crisis. (See here . The CRA did not encourage lenders to make riskier loans: in fact, non-CRA mortgage firms made subprime loans at twice the rate of CRA-covered firms. This is from the same Wikipedia article you...

Well, schools are funded by property taxes, and they're heavily affected by national initiatives (like No Child Left Behind.)
