Re: How Do I Learn About [n]?

Anyone have any resources for better understanding XML? I'm having trouble "getting" it, I understand generally how it works, and what it's good for, but would like to learn more. Preferably from a source that assumes you know little to nothing about it.

Re: How'd you come up with your username(s)?

Mine comes from back when I thought GameFAQs was a cool place to discuss the higher points of videogaming o_O I decided to create an account so I could post on the forums. This being the first site I really signed up for, I spent about an hour trying to come up with an original and witty username as...

XKCD mindhax

Does anyone else find that sometimes the xkcd comic will be eerily relevant to something you recently learned? This has happened to me several times, including learning about Fourier transforms in our digital signal processing class, only to find the Fourier-transform-of-my-cat comic through unrelat...

Re: Beating the system... kinda

I've had this happen to me by accident once. I handed in a small C program via ftp, and got my mark sheet back a week later with "Does not Compile" 0/50 I asked the teacher if i could see the copy he received, maybe it was an older version or something. We open it up, and theres a bunch of...

Re: I wish I could really draw :(

WTF is going on in here? The OP asked for some advice on casually exploring improving his drawing skills. Now, we're having a flamewar about whether he is genetically capable of rivaling Picasso, as if that has anything to do with having some fun learning to draw. Enough! Stop ruining Earlz's threa...

Program for tagging large amounts of images

Greetings helpdesk, my problem is this: I have a folder filled with 'random' images from the internets, these range from lolcats and other memery to really neat artistic images and rare stuff I couldn't find again if I tried. I wish to be able to tag these images and subsequently search them later i...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

How are you gentlemen? All your base are belong to us! Now that we've got that out of the way, I'm Arlen. I live up in Vancouver and am currently in year 3 of a CS Degree at BCIT. I spend far too much time on the internets and have a nasty habit of joining a forum, lurking around for quite some time...
