Re: 0854: "Learning to Cook"

I'm 19 and for the past 5 years of my life my parents would regularly call home and say they'd be late back and would need me to cook dinner, I'd then get them to give me instructions on how to cook whatever it is they'd planned and I'd cook it. Sure sometimes i'd forget some of the steps and it'd e...

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

Oceania's mainly used as a sociological term, isn't it? I've never heard anyone seriously call it a continent. I was educated throughout high school (geography is mandatory until age 16 in the UK) that Oceania/Australasia is a continent and have never heard it not considered one before now. If Aust...

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

As an American who travels a lot (6 continents so far) this comic is greatly appreciated. You traveled to more continents then there are? I am impressed? What did you do, visit Atlantis? Ok, I'm being deliberately obtuse. I know some people divide the world up in 6 continents. But then I still do n...

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

If you expect someone from the U.S. to know where, say, Finland is, I think he's pretty justified in expecting you to know where Tennessee is, considering it has a larger population and GDP than Finland. What, no. Unless you actively attempt to learn countries the way you acquire knowledge about th...

Brown came in in 2007, leaving him outside the 20th Century stipulation.

I could do Lloyd George, Chamberlain, Atlee and Major.

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

Finally, I turned around and asked her a fateful question: "Name as many states as you can." I missed fewer European nations than she got states. I'm British, and something of an Americanophile, I pride myself on being able to name and locate every US state, as well as name every state Ca...
