Re: Fun words to misspronounce.

Jesus = Jeesoos This is best used in the context of not quite being sure who he is. "Oh yeah, I heard about that Jeesoos fellow." Bonus points if this is the first thing you say as you enter a conversation, with your mouth full of food. I'm not sure if this is correct or incorrect, but I a...

Tusks of Nightmares - An Internet Comic Book

http://clearlyagenius.com/elephant/?id=1 Hello. I kind of lurk, but I post sometimes too. Ozymandias and I have started an Internet Comic Book. We call it that because it sounds awesomely pompous. We've completed the first issue, and would love to hear any thoughts on it. I feel like my art has impr...

Re: As the Credits roll...

I stay, for many of the already shared reasons, but also to reflect. I like having those couple minutes to sit and think about the movie before going back out into the real world.

I'll usually lie about scenes at the end if I'm with lame people who don't appreciate the magic.

Re: What webcomics have you STOPPED reading?

I've kind of lapsed in my webcomic checking in the last month or two, but I intend to get back to most of them. So I won't list those. CAD - I started reading it back in middle school, and just grew out of it. Better webcomics showed me what I was missing, and I was never that into gaming. I checked...

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

In Raiders, Indy was dragged across a stretch of road from the back of a Nazi truck. He was heavily bruised, and it hurt him to even move. Marion had to help nurse him back into a fighting state. In Skull, he survived a fucking nuclear explosion in a goddamn refrigerator, and then walked himself ho...

Re: Alan Moore

I loved Watchmen. I thought V for Vendetta was ok. It kind of meandered around, with a few too many characters of questionable importance to keep track of. By the end it was becoming kind of a chore to finish. From what I can recall of the forward, I think Moore would at least somewhat agree with th...

Re: Donnie Darko 2: Dark Harder

This is probably one of the only sequels I would consider not watching lest it taint the original. It could be good, but I'll not be seeing it opening day. Maybe a companion film would be better. Not necessary or desirable, but better. A story that takes place in the same universe, but doesn't invol...

Re: How bad would a mugging be...

On the average school day I would have my wallet with usually less than $20 in it, and the tickets to all the movies I've seen since I started keeping them. I would have my phone, (which was free, but would cost money to replace) my iPod, and once my school's news program starts up, the camcorder I ...

Re: Twilight?

You dislike the books because many people have read and enjoyed them? That doesn't seem very sensible.

It is silly to dislike something because it is popular, and just as silly to claim to dislike something you haven't experienced.

Re: Twilight?

After reading some of this thread, I borrowed the first book from my sister's box set. I'm only a couple pages in, but I found what I read pretty funny. So far she is driving to live with her of course separated father, complaining about this "inconsequential town" she is going to be livin...

Re: Widescreen TV formatting.

I will always go to way more trouble than it is worth to get the original aspect ratio. I usually refuse to watch movies on television for this reason. Stretching is awful, and Pan & Scan is even worse.

However, when watching movies with a group of people, it is rather hard to convince them.

Subtitles. Always. Unless we get babel fishes.

I like getting the intended voice and inflection from the original actor.

Anatine - Pertaining to ducks; ducklike

Fun to describe people with. The only time I remember reading the word in print was in a story about golf. Something to the effect of, "He had anatine swing qualities.".

I really like these. I think my favorite is the violin/miscellaneous string instrument one. I wouldn't have thought of the paint coat step, but it is a really nice touch.

I feel like trying it, so thank you for the instructions.

Re: Encounters with the Politically-Correct

The whole condescending "I'm smarter and better than everybody else" blog thing gets old kind of fast. I always imagine the writer as the South Park WoW guy. Other than that, nothing to to complain about. I only read two articles. Nothing wrong, but not really anything to make me a regular...

Harry Potter, mostly for the reasons already stated. I like it, but it's just a children's series that got way out of hand. Lord of the Flies I couldn't get through this. I gave up about halfway through. Eragon / Eldest I enjoyed the first one a couple years ago. When I picked up the second one last...
