Re: Exercises to help with holding arms above head

A followup to the original post: the shoudler is all good, I just did a few extra reps on the left (when working with dumbells) or used the shoulder press machine with both arms push up/left takes the load on the way down. The result after a few months is the left shoulder is almost even with the ri...

Re: [YAWLT] Yet Another Weight Loss Thread

Have something for breakfast. Eat vaguely healthy snacks of some sort so you're not so hungry at night, and to help your blood sugar not swing up/down do drasticly. If you drink sugary drinks cut them out. Figure out some sort of exercise you will do consistently, do it consistently; the gym is grea...

Re: injuries effecting calories?

As another non-expert who could easily be wrong: If you do weight exercise then the muscles are rebuilt using protein - bulking exercise cause "damage" that then gets repaired to make you tougher, provided you train appropriately to allow recovery time. I'd assume the same would be true fo...

Re: Exercises to help with holding arms above head

It's probably just that fact that it's an unfamiliar position for your body to be in considering you don't generally lift things that high in day to day life.. That makes a lot of sense, given I normally only lift arms above shoulder level to pick up/put down something. Hopefully this will work out...

Very similar situation myself, and the easiest things I found that have helped have been removing all refined sugar from my diet (which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be) and drinking water or sparkiling water only (which was really hard, and I had to do it by using unsweetened fruit juice as ...

Exercises to help with holding arms above head

What exercises/techniques would help with difficulties holding arms above my head for any extended period of time? In everyday life this is only really an issue when changing a lightbulb - supporting even a very light weight really starts to kill my muscles after about a minute. Now that I have star...

This happens to me quite frequently. It seems to be pretty common. It's often referred to as Exploding Head Syndrome . (Coolest syndrome name EVER!) I've never really thought about it before but occasionly (every few months) while drifitng off to sleep I'll suddenly startle and jerk awake. I'm sure...

I often hear music and instictively visualise it as patterns of light in a 3D space. The various visualisation plugins for audio players like winamp are a poor reflection of what I see; I gave up using such visualisations because they were never right, and always felt like they were getting things w...
