Re: Today I Made:

For lunch yesterday, we made some fattoush to go with leftover rotisserie chicken, along with a simple tahini sauce. Decent fattoush is surprisingly hard to find in restaurants here.

For dinner, asparagus risotto, then a salad to go with some store-bought bourbon sausage.

Re: Today I Made:

Baked up a pan of Dublin Coddle, or bangers and potatoes with onions. Bangers are British suausages. The recipe I started from suggested using bratwurst instead, but I'm glad I can get the real thing. The textures of the two are completely different. In the morning I may end up doing a full English...

It is super soup. From the same cookbook as that other soup recipe I gave you that one time. Google will find you the recipe, I've only ever seen the one variation.

That Somlah Marakot looks pretty tasty! On Saturday, we made pressure cooker lamb stew, soda bread, Brussels sprouts, and green beans with shallots; sort of a belated St Patrick's day meal. I found some guanciale, so we made spaghetti carbonara and sauteed broccolini. Used the double boiler method, and didn't end up with scrambled eggs, for a change.

I've also used mine (the stovetop kind) for stewey and soupy things. It's also good for beans and lentils -- most Indian households use one for dal. Though you'll want to be careful with lentils -- some kinds can sputter and block the safety vent with lentil debris, so use a low fill level, and choo...
