I don't carry a spare battery, but I do carry a plug-in charger and cord.  If you use the charger designed for it, modern smartphones only take about a half-hour to come up to full charge anyway.

There is no need to worry about rainbows because there was never much rainfall on Tatooine in the first place.  This is why Luke was first seen with his Uncle Lars and Aunt Beroo on the moisture farm, worrying about the evaporators.
