I've actually had an ongoing argument with my brother about this for the past few months. He insists that birds ARE dinosaurs, while I have remained adamant that they are just closely related, but definitely not the same kind of animal. Tonight, the battle's over. You win, little brother, you win.

So I have to memorize the names and formulas of like 50 ionic compounds for my honors chemistry class. My brain looks for patterns when it memorized stuff like this though, and it cant find any. There are some underlying things that help a little, like how -ite means there are less oxygen atoms than...

It's not funny. This is the first xkcd comic I've been genuinely disappointed in. Usually xkcd sucks makes me mad, but I'm predicting I'll agree with it on this one.
