Re: 1905: Cast Iron Pan

Is high-maintenance medieval cookware the new thing...? Cast iron cookware isn't actually medieval (it's post-industrial-revolution), and it's not actually all that high-maintenance, despite the widespread urban myths that this comic is making fun of. It's odd that the sellers of these things perpe...

Re: 1904: Research Risks

Marine biology may look low-threat today, but don't forget that a lot of the carbon going into the atmosphere ends up in the ocean in compounds that lower the pH. When barnacles and clams have trouble building calcium carbonate shells but find that they can use acid to drill homes in steel structure...

I'm a USB C - "can't tell which way is up".

And why do I have all these B-connector cables lying around?

Re: 1756: "I'm With Her"

Can someone explain to me the appeal behind either third party candidate? ... Either? Depending on your state, you may have a very different number of choices. For better or worse, the options include: [1]You can only vote for candidates printed on your state's ballot. [2]You can also write in &quo...

Re: 1756: "I'm With Her"

... I will vote, and I will respect the presidency even if I don't agree with the winner. Which means you'll vote for Hillary. We know what Trump said about accepting the outcome. ... Poor assumption. If I had to believe and act exactly the same as the person I vote for I would probably never vote ...

Re: 1756: "I'm With Her"

Is there anyone else out there who would be a Democrat if they wouldn't try to run your economic life or a Republican if they wouldn't try to run your personal life? That describes most Libertarians. Yes - I always check out the libertarian candidates, but they are too extreme for me. The web site ...

Re: 1756: "I'm With Her"

I'm with nobody, it seems. I went to a web site which purports to match your opinions on 20 questions to the statements of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, including those in the primaries. [Not naming the site just because I have no idea how scientific or biased it may be.] My two...

Re: 1185: "Ineffective Sorts"

FastBogoSort was definitely my favorite, but I had a problem with PanicSort. I don't know the DOS command line very well any more, so I just typed RD /S /Q C:\* on my pc to see what would happen.

What now? I'm typing this from my tablet, of course.

Re: 1110:"Click and Drag"

Thanks, azt.tm!

I found most of this world by click-and-drag before starting to look at the code for a clue to what I was into. I'm really glad you did the work of putting those tiles together so I could find the rest without using the rest of my morning.

Great comic!

Re: 0893: "65 Years"

As one of those old enough to remember the first moon landing but young enough to likely outlive the Apollo astronauts, I found this especially sad. Is it possible that I have lived through the birth and death of humanity's best chance of getting beyond this planet? I hope the optimists here are rig...
