The thing to do is to stop right before the finish line and then reverse into victory. Best racing taunt ever.

Re: Diablo2: LOD (playing again)

When this thread started up, I was eager to get back into it. Then I ODed on D2. Had to uninstall it, for my own health and sanity. This game will get you hard if you have any downtime in your day.

But...
I'd happily put my life on hold for D3, if it ever comes to out.

Re: Speaker wire modification

Yes, the speakers have the same red and white inputs as a TV. You plug the yellow from the (N64) into the TV for video and put the R/W into the speakers instead.
I'd rather not have a "ghetto" splice, but it may end up like that. I do happen to have a pair of bum earbuds...

Speaker wire modification

A few years back, I bought a pretty nice set of "Video Game" speakers (inputs are red/white to correspond to the sound outputs of a console, the yellow console output is ignored because it is the video cable). They were an Ebay find and exceeded my expectations, especially the subwoofer. A...

I'd say a wheelbarrow going downhill would demolish a longboard in a collision, electricity or not. Calvin and Hobbes for the win.

You have to keep a good series alive somehow. Unlike the vast majority of TV programs, it makes people think.

And that wasn't even a convertible... I don't think you understand how punch bugs work. Punch bug refers to the Volkswagen Bug, that is, if a Volkswagen Beetle drives past you while you are next to a peer, you can punch them. What the hell would convertibles be justifiable? Convertible bugs...

Re: "Keeping Time" Discussion

Just for giggles... It's not out of the question to march the hemiola in meters of 3/4, 6/8, etc. This can turn a fast 3 feel into a moderate two, so you always get your (leading) foot on the downbeat of beat 1. In the case that you're marching a moderate tempo 6/8 piece with a feeling of 2, you can...

Re: The Xkcd Superelite Marching Band/Drum Corps

Pretty improbable on tour, which would be the easiest way to do it. In the pursuit of efficiency, horns usually end up back on the equipment truck promptly... And "encores" not sanctioned by the show coordinator result in point deductions.

Re: The Xkcd Superelite Marching Band/Drum Corps

I could see a meetup happening after a show. San Antonio, Bill Millers would be good, but they close before the show is over. Allentown, at the little Diner across the street from J. Birney Crum?

Just as an aside for the drum corps folks: Where do you get your quality recordings of DCI music? I've found some of it on iTunes, oddly enough, but other than that, you kinda have to scrounge it. There used to be an IRC channel with everything you could imagine... Mp3s, Tour DVDs, Legacy Collectio...
