Re: The Expanse

Bobbie and Avasarala are probably my two favorite characters from the books. I was rather disappointed with the portrayal of Chrisjen in the first season, but in the second she's pretty much perfect. Right now I have about the same attitude towards Sgt. Draper on the show as I did for Chrisjen last ...

Re: Ghost in the Shelf (2017)

I imagine this movie started out very similarly to many big-budget disappointments: A studio executive had on their desk two folders, one containing a pretty decent script for a cyberpunk blockbuster, and another containing the rights to Ghost in the Shell and a check for hojillions of dollars to ma...

Anyone have any experience with Industrial Craft 2s nuclear reactors? It's part of the modpack on a server some of my friends set up and I'm interested in playing around with them, but a lot of the info I've been able to find seems to be incomplete or outdated.

Re: Star Wars Episode 3.5: Roguey One Kenobe

What is ludicrous is something that has been endemic to the Star Wars universe since the beginning: Bottomless pits with no guard rails. Apparently the EMpire's equivalent of OSHA -requires- that every installation has a minimum of one interior facility with no intervening floors and no way for a h...

That's not always realistic. A server 'archaeologist' exploring older structures won't have detailed memory of the structure's they're exploring, and some structures may include blocks or block-arrangements that are no longer possible to obtain/replicate. For example, the Moon at clocktown had a fre...

My understanding is that the count for the mob cap specifically ignores mobs with the PersistenceRequired flag set, which occurs when a mob is named with a nametag or picks up an item.

I don't think mobs that are holding picked up items count towards the cap. The loose gunpowder items also contribute to server load without counting towards the mob cap.

As much as I love the creeper-killing mechanism, I think it is a significant contributor to the recent lagginess. All the gunpowder left around to be picked up by mobs and such can't be helping any.

I carry an end chest and a silk pick everywhere, especially in the End. When looting, I make frequent stops to load choice booty (like elytra) into my end chest so even if I die out in the void, I don't lose as much. In the case of helping the poor in the current economy, there are already programs in place for that and I'm not at all convinced that this is any better or more efficient at doing so, nor that its side effects aren't as bad or worse.
