Re: Favourite Voice Actors?

Homer Simpson (or whatever his real name is) in planescape: torment. The entire game had great voice actors. Also, the Spathi and Slylandro voice actors from the Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control 2) were pretty awesome. Sadly, I can't remember any names offhand All the others listed in this thread were ...

Re: Cory Doctorow's "Little Brother" + thoughts on privacy

complete privacy, and zero privacy may have its good and bad points, but i think everyone can agree that the idea of a private citizen having no privacy from the government, and not the other way around, has no long lasting good implications. You mean The Transparent Society ? Also, the world isn't...

For some reason the "random" button on xkcd is blocked. Nothing else having to do with the site is. Also, any wikipedia articles based on sex. That means no looking up juicy info for drosophilia reproductive habits.

Played both 1 and 2. Both were good, but shining force 1 seemed much cooler though for some reason.

Also a Sega Channel fan here.

Re: Levels of Infinity (theory)

Honestly, I kindof agree that the argument in the first post *should* work. You would get an infinitesimal, and therefore no longer be dealing with the reals though, so it doesn't matter at all. However, .9repeating is defined as one, therefore we must accept it unless it prevents us from making a h...

For integers...
x^2
1 4 9 16 25 36
3 5 7 9 11
2 2 2 2

x^3
1 8 27 64
7 19 37
12 18
6
x^4
.....
....
...
..
24
etc

This is probably useless to you, but fun nonetheless.

I've seen a few episodes...it's alright. It has taught me that the best way to dispose of a body is to break it down with concentrated hydrofluoric acid. And be careful what you use to contain the acid! I do admit that its not *perfect,* but compared to other series, I enjoy it much more. Fr...

Breaking Bard

Does anyone else watch this show? I find it to be much better than most of the stuff on TV. It actually has a storyline, and ends its episodes with big events, rather than cliffhangers. Additionally, its just plain funny sometimes, and it managed to catch my attention while I was working. http://www...

I'd think it would make sense if it worked like driving laws where I live (at least more sense than the driving laws do). You can get it at 16, but you have to take a competence/maturity test. At 18, you can just vote/drive anyway.

I remember playing Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, FF3, FF7, Demon Crest, Super Metroid, any Zelda game before Ocarina, etc, etc, and being UNABLE to put them down. Now I find myself lacklusterly going through Blue Dragon. Circle of Doom is boring. What happened to the good RPGs? Its like everythin...

The article is kinda misleading. He is just offering his books for free through p2p methods. Because he allows consent, that is not really pirating (unless I am mistaken about his methods).

The original X-Box controller was awesome . It fit my hands perfectly. Meanwhile, everyone else -- everyone else, mind you, is a good six inches taller than me, with larger hands to match -- complained about how big it was. Buncha whiny little wankers, if you ask me. :| Heh, I agree with every word...

Just from the music, I could tell that this video wouldn't tell me anything new. It basically just tries to shock people into being confused/scared/whatever. Most of what it says is true, but some is misleading (e.g. Chinese have more honor students than there are Americans), since the average level...

Yeah, sorry I couldn't be of much help.

I agree that Planescape: Torment was probably the best amount/implementation of "freedom" within a game.
Deus Ex did it pretty well too, but it still wasn't my favorite game.
