I don't think cursing reduces the intensity of pain, but it helps you to deal with it. It's like the closest thing to a pro-active approach that you can get in the case of accidental injury, and the idea that cursing and screaming distracts you from the pain/occupies your brain sounds pretty reasona...

Whoah, you guys are great! :) Thanks a lot, so far. I assumed that's what was being tested - the association to the word of the color, not the color itself. That's what I thought, too.
