well, one day i was driving around and came across a pile of old computers, so i took them and put them to use. actually not much use, but one is running linux, and the other two are just haning out with win 98... the specs are sys 1: 600ish celleron 256 ram, sys2: p3 550 128 ram, and sys3: amd k6 3...

@whatswithhumans: Using discardable sand-bags as ballast isn't that novel. Also sooner or later you're going to run out and as I understood it, the idea was to have this zeppelin flying around for quite a while. check this out... world war II japanese balloon bombs, pretty much just riding the currents with an interesting way to control altitude. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_balloon so, yes build that super dragon zeppelin and take over the world, or the radio one would be cool to just to you know hang...

hmm, yes you're only going to spark a mm or so in normal air. might be enough for you to make a small pulsed laser. or if you can charge it quick enough (im assuming probably not) a spark counter. yeah do not really have an option to charge the bank quickly... to charge my friend and i use a 400wat...

true, railguns do have a huge issue with replacing parts. however its still awesome that if it works it will shoot a penny at about 1/2 a mile a second, and if it does not... it will turn that penny into plasma, which is equally as cool...

a friend and i are already working on both of those (found some crazy 6 Gauge wire at an old hardware store for a coil, and are trying to figure out the best way to design the rail gun)

i would think the fine powder would have trouble finding its way to each cylinder, depending on the design of the intake manifold.

another consideration would be how to keep the fine powder from mucking up all the valve mechanisms.
