Re: Little bits of advice

Mythbusters disproved? As entertaining as Mythbusters can be, don't take it as gossip. They don't exactly use sound scientific experiments. I've demonstrated many a times when I lived on campus how my phone would kill my magnetic room key. *Swipe* Works Sit my phone ontop of magnet strip and get to ...

Socks Does it seem strange to leave your socks on during sex? I tend to keep my socks on nearly all the time, but leaving them on while having sex bothered my ex for some reason. Not wanted to go off topic, but I don't think so. I generally have then off, but sometimes you just get to far in to bot...

Thanks guys. I'll probably implement the Damerau-Levenshtein algo and Soundex.

Just got to work out how to scale them so they are comparable now...

EDIT:

Soundex will not do. I'll have to look into Metaphone/Double Metaphone

Hmm, didn't mean to start a debate about smoking. I just do not /personally/ like it. I can not stand the smell of it or the taste when they kiss me. Also, I play 3 comp games of soccer a week, up to six during the season if you count social games so I like my ability to breathe freely. To answer Th...

Re: Behold....xkcdForge!

Yup, well the original idea was originally

'Projects of any kind. Software projects. Art projects. Any collaborative project'

So I think that covers it.

Like I stated on #xkcd, I can help with any of the custom programming needed to bend the framework, back up plans etc.

Re: C++ Help: Saving/Loading Structures in Vectors

Remember you can not store pointers to disk. You will have to save each vector sequentially, the load sequentially, rebuilding the dynamic memory as you go. Make sure you are only storing the actually data in the structures and I repeat, NOT the pointers. Naturally, showing examples of the code you ...

If I could torture every person at work who used goto, I would. EVERY case I have seen at work is the result of laziness/poor program structure. I'm sick of having to do Ctrl-F "somelabel" just to find a label a few thousand lines up or down of that line, only to have it filled with severa...
