Re: favorite dungeons and dragons class

I've always wanted to be a Skylord, if only for the fact that I could ride a giant owl and kill in the name of good.

Re: D&D 4th Edition [and other Gen-Con news]

Even with all the gripes I had about Star Wars Saga Edition, it was really fun to play. Combat was so nice/easy to do with the defenses and hit point system, the force powers were really well done compared to the previous versions, and overall skirmishes felt like skirmishes instead of drawn out bat...

Re: Metal

BM wise I've been listening to Negura Bunget, Amesoeurs, and Abigor lately. All amazing, especially Amesoeurs And if you guys want a good sludgey/doom band, check out Thou. They have their entire album for download on their site. Think EyeHateGod mixed with Kylesa with hints of Explosions in the Sky...

Re: "Classic" Discussion

ITT: Classical rock fans vs. modern rock fans whoever wins, we lose Seriously, new music for the most part is so much more progressive. Whoever says it isn't will most likely classify all/most new music as tasteless, talentless, noise, too long/boring, too short, trying to copy old ideas, or "n...

Re: Best Concert You've Been To

Top 5 (no order) Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus - Most entertaining live show ever. Megatron screen, movies, flashy choreography and all of that. Also, I really like the songs (I heard them at work a lot, got hooked somehow). Well deserving of the biggest pop act in recent years. Miley Cyrus can sing li...

Re: D&D 4th Edition [and other Gen-Con news]

Although in no way related to the current conversation, Decibel magazine (the only respectable metal/punk magazine in my opinion...I could list why but it'd be pointless) did a pretty big article about D&D and its ties to metal in different ways, and its pretty well written. Good interviews and ...

the new Envy cd is out

They fixed everything they did wrong with Insomniac Doze, mixed it with their earlier material and created the best ep of the year. Amazing.

I'm not sure about uploading rules, but I'm gonna take a guess and say its wrong. But it is out there <_<

Re: D&D 4th Edition [and other Gen-Con news]

Now, what I *would* like to see is certain combat actions becoming less useful over consecutive uses. If you open a fight with a trip attack, for example, it should work or fail on its own merits. But if you follow that trip attack with a second trip attack, your opponent (assuming it's not somethi...

Re: D&D 4th Edition [and other Gen-Con news]

I'm starting a Saga campaign soon, I'll give a detailed impression/thoughts on gameplay mechanics after the first game or two if anyone would like it. Be forewarned that D&D 3.x and Vampire: Requiem are my only experiences with pen and paper RPGs due to me being a late bloomer in it and my only ...

Sludge, grind (although not metal, they're always lumped in <_<) and black are the only kinds I like.

I almost did a sludge/doom/black radio show, but I instead did volunteer work =/

A really fun game based around wikipedia

The point of the game is to take two very different things, and through page links try to see who can connect the two using the least amount of links. For instance, the connection between Asperger's and hamburgers would be: aspergers > metabolism > protein > diet > beef > hamburgers The person with ...
