Re: 1624: 2016

If I were talking about the centery I'd verabally say 18 hundreds. Don't know how else I'd write it, other then 1800's or 19th Century (which I still get confused about. my brain wants 19th=1900's not 1800's)

But, I came here to post that Blues clues first aired almost 20 years ago (septemeber 1996)

I work at a store. And I actually though it was __'s for the longest time. It's all I remember calling it, in the 20 odd years I've been alive. but part of that is the sound I think. ending with a solid 'Gee' sound is harder then ending with a "jez" sound. (Don't bother guessing, it a loca...

Canadian, and we are a hodgepodge of the two, british and american spellings. I constantly switch. I'm wondering how the spelling become 'correct' or not. Trying to find a fictional series written before 2008. I think it has about 4 books. The setting is alt earth type place, with medieval england/scotland being invaded. I don't think it should be illegal for parents to teach children about religion. But I do not think that parents should hold children to harmful religious principles. Like your faith will heal you ("you wouldn't be depressed if you believed in god harder", or "it's up to god if you/I ...

I think it's kind of ironic when a thread discussing how to address people respectfully contains insults. As a straight male, I don't care if someone refers to me as "she", "madame", or even "it", as long as it is done in a polite and respectful manner . Sure it will t...

I can't believe nobody has brought up the problem with this word-substitution: it suggests that "friendship" can only exist between males. I don't read it that way. It's trying to reframe the (implied to be) unnecessary term "bromance" as simple frienship. It would work equally ...
