Re: Summer music

I'd recommend MGMT. Those rudderless, drugged-out hippies sure know how to play some groovy grooves. Huh, what do you mean "That's not how kids talk these days"? Shut up. Also listen to Bat For Lashes, CSS and Last Shadow Puppets (Hey, whaddaya know, Alex Turner's not ALL terrible). And Ju...

Re: Explain your avatar!

Mine's the ending screen from 6 days a sacrifice. I had the pic with the full intention of putting it on a T-shirt.
That didn't happen. This did. I could have done better.

Re: "A Better Idea" discussion

My 5th year prom was a couple of months ago (roughly, I think...). It was surprisingly fun - this is Scotland, so we all wear kilts and RIDICULOUSLY long shoelaces (seriously, my friend couldn't tie them 'cause he was pissed so he just held them and danced on regardless). A LAN party would only have...

Re: Books you had to read for school that you could not stand

Well, I'm sitting my English higher on Thursday (YAY!) and one of the books we did in class was The Colo[u]r Purple ('U' added for British correctness). That book was the literary equivalent of smallpox. It was all written in the style of an illiterate southern American's letters. This, of course, r...

Re: Video game character party theme. Ideas, please!

Well, thinking Pokemon - TEAM ROCKET! It's obvious, but you could come up with all sorts of those stupid little speeches they did together BUT: base them around party things! Hurrah for inventiveness!! Failing that, go as Rebecca Chambers and that convict guy (Billy or something?) from Resident Evil...

Re: ...the Musical.

Well, me and a friend have been trying to write "Sylar: The Musical". A heartwarming, brain-munching comedy about everyone's favourite super-villain. It started 'cause we were bored and has been put on hold because of exams. Curse them and their revision needs... But once it's done (and it...

My god, my forehead is DEFORMED! Stupid keyboard. Yes, that's it... it's the keyboards fault and I have no physical abnormalities whatsoever.
Hmm, now that would make a great pick-up line: "Hey baby, I've got no physical abnormalities... so, my place?"
I'll shut up now.

Re: What is your favourite book?

It's far too hard to name my all time favourites, but the best books I've read recently are: - "The Wasp Factory" By Iain Banks - "Crash" By J.G. Ballard - "Smoke And Mirrors" By Neil Gaiman All great books, though "Smoke And Mirrors" is a collection of short ...

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

Well, my first year woodwork teacher came into the class one day, shouted "I've broken all your spatulas, because I knew no-one would admit themselves!" Then stormed out of the room again. We never saw him again... Shame really, he was quite fun. Kept saying things like "Volkswagen&qu...

Re: A question my music teacher couldn't answer...

I was always under the impression that 2/2 and 4/4 are exactly the same. Because 4/4 just means "4 notes, each a quarter-note in length" and 2/2 would be "2 notes, each a half-note in length". So they'd both equate to the same thing in the end. This can be compared to stuff like ...
