Re: Awesome bands that nobody's heard of

Why do I get the impression that in forums with this kind of an age distribution, just about any band from the 80s or before will be effectivly more obscure than whatever indie band from the 90s / 00s? A few test artists to proov me wrong on: Klaus Schulze, Passport, Steve Hackett I've heard of Sch...

No Porcupine Tree yet? I'm amazed.

Also, King Crimson were mildly active in the 90s, weren't they? :)

Just finished Neu!'s namesake album (the first one :) ).

God. Damn. That is some good stuff. Highlights were Hallogallo (of course) and Negativland, but every song was phenomenal in its own way.

Extremely powerful. Varied instrumentation. Very, very epic. Probably the best metal album I have in my collection (and I have quite a few).

Porcupine Tree - Halo: when the keyboard reaches the peak of the phrase at around 3:56, and the drums kick back in. Pure nirvana. Mogwai - Golden Porsche: at around 2:37, when a wall of sound just comes from nowhere and knocks you down. I can't help but stop whatever I'm doing, shut down all my thou...
