I'm not sure if it's a Hawaii thing or if they're all over the US but recently I've been seeing these annoying bumper stickers (meaning god is greater than I). I'm posting because I saw a funny sticker the other day that read he=sqrt -1 and for the life of me I can't find it anywhere online. Figured...

So my friend has this boil, and... no, just kidding. An ESL learner I know has asked me this, and I'm a bit hard pressed to answer. What are the differences between: 1) If he were to come, what would we do? 2) If he should come, what will we do? 3) If he should come, what would we do? To me, the fir...

Hullo, noob here.

I was reading a website today and I came across this and wondered at the reading of the bolded Kanji... is it たいつべたい or つめたい ?

Also, if it's the former reading, does this sentence mean "The rain in Tokyo is chilly."?

Thanks!

Re: Social Protocol for Club/Bar Dancing?

I usually have success in club dancing situations by having a drink by the dance floor - scan the crowd and look for eye contact. When you get eye contact, approach the girl/guy, smile, get their attention if you don't already have it with a little touch above their elbow and start dancing. It's pre...

Start with push ups on your knees, not your toes, its easier to do until you get enough strength to go from your feet. Doing push ups on your knees is basically cheating yourself of half the exercise because you aren't using your stabilizing muscles. If you can't do a proper set of pushups, start o...

I know these sound corny, but they are true, and they will help you. You do need to learn the theory, even if it's tedious. You can get by without it, but it gives you a huuuuuuuge advantage. I think that's what the OP is complaining about - that his teacher isn't teaching basic theory, but his own...

You can do some neat back exercises with a yoga ball, or just on the ground. You can absolutely 'isolate' your back/shoulders, but I would recommend more integrated core exercises. Two exercises that come to mind immediately are back extensions and supermans. Instead of trying to write about them, h...
