Re: "More Accurate" Discussion

The air and space museum has a Predator drone now. You can look it right in the viewslit. Damn terrifying.

Oh, and the kill-y-er ones are called Reapers, now.

Re: "Journal 2" Discussion

In other news, Senor Randal clearly does not care for the blondes (or redheads?) looking back I realized that blondes only happen when a backup, less awesome woman is absolutely necessary. Well, in a comic consisting mostly of black-and-white line art, the preponderance of black hair doesn't necess...

Re: "Journal 2" Discussion

Lol double ninja'd with posting this first. It feels like a bit of a response to the criticism of the first one. *edit* Lol, ninja'd there too. But yeah. Props to everyone who agrees with me! Plus, Black Hat Lady pwns Black Hat Man, if only because of sexy. And, uh, I'm sure we will see her again. F...

Re: The Data So Far Discussion

"In the beginning there was nothing... which exploded". That's a pretty major leap of faith. http://www.radgraphics.net/images/main/atomic%20explosion%20-%204.jpg Is it irrational to say that an explosion occured moments before this photo was taken, based on only what we can see in the im...

Re: death by human in pre-agricultural society. There's a pretty big theory that the Iceman died due to human-on-human violence. If one of the only bodies well enough preserved from that period to show causes of death died as a result of violence, even taking into account the small, skewed sample, h...

RE: Quantum Tunneling. We calculated that once, actually. The odds that someone of reasonable size, in a reasonable room, at reasonable speeds, would accidentally quantum tunnel through a wall. It's 10E-38 For comparison: if everyone who ever lived spent their entire 100-year lives walking into wall...

Re: "Compiler Complaint" Discussion

Lol there was a Neil Gaiman comic (the one-shot, with Death), where one of the big characters talked about exactly that effect, and its name, to prove she was smart.

But apparently I'm not, cause I've forgotten it.

Re: "What xkcd Means" Discussion

I'd just like to point out that the tile stepping in the comic allows people to step on the impure white tiles between black tiles--tantamount to stepping on *GREY* tiles instead of, as I always do, getting a chopper ride over them. If I were to xkcd tiles, I'd only do black tiles and white tiles NO...

Re: "Nerd Sniping" Discussion

It looks like a preturbative problem to me . . . of course, I'm not as clear on the technical end of that as I'd like, so, somebody please feel free to correct me.
