Re: Election in Canada this Spring

Is there a reason the Bloc Québécois lost 90% of their seats? Or is that just due to left-wing vote splitting? I haven't been following this too closely. I think part of it is that the PQ made some strong, somewhat controversial statements regarding language issues recently at their national congre...

Interesting! I was raised as a Catholic but never really paid attention; I actually knew more about Ramadan than Lent. For Lent I will give up all animal products; I'm ovo-lacto-vegetarian and I've been wanting to make the switch to a vegan diet. It's a good excuse to clear out all the animal produc...

Not all; non-hydrogenated margarine has very little trans fat. The fact that hydrogenated margarine is still sold baffles me though.

There are good reasons for eating organic food. "ARTIFICIAL = BAD!!!" is not necessarily one of them, and you may not agree with everything that goes with the 'organic' label (I certainly don't), but the fact remains that there are valid reasons for wanting to eat organic food.

You're only limited to 4 primary partitions. One of these 4 can be an extended partition, in which you can create up to 24 logical partitions. Logical partitions cannot be marked as bootable/active so Windows cannot boot from them but Linux doesn't mind. Linky for more info. It should be fairly stra...

Yeah there might be a hidden recovery partition. Keep in mind manufacturers advertise hard drive sizes in decimal (1gb = 10^9 bytes) while the computer shows them in binary (1 gb = 2^30 bytes). A "500GB" hard drive is actually around 465GB. Plus some space is eaten away by the partition......

By missing space, do you mean that the drive appears smaller, or that more of it is used? Is compression turned on? Compression on NTFS drives causes fragmentation. Maybe your defrag program is uncompressing your files? I'm making a wild guess, take it for what it's worth.
