Re: Greatest solo?

The greatest improvisational solo ever played by a human being was Miles Davis on the song "So What" from the album "Kind of Blue" back in 1959. The margin between it and anything else is like mount everest to an ant hill. If you haven't heard it yet, you haven't lived as far as...

...contradicts with the "WE DON'T CARE" ethos of "true" punk. That said this view then excludes a fair few undisputed "punk" bands from the fray. Which I'm sure will annoy fan bois. Fuck em. We don't care? The Clash cared. think nonchalance is not the best definition. ...

Sean Williams, Australian Author- The Resurrected Man has a female protagonist, along with his Geodesica series. whilst not necessarily the protagonist, he has strong female characters in Metal Fatigue and the Books Of The Change/Cataclysm. go forth and read, he's awesome.

Actually, a lot of the Wall is waters' issues- he was a nasty, bitter man by then. if you compare the wall and the final cut- pink floyd's last two albums with waters- with the later stuff, it's a lot less 'daddy issues.'

I gotta go with the jazz-as-emotion thing. Mingus was known for his anger, and you can hear it in his music. even though he was a bassist, you can hear the indignation in 'fable of faubus' and the absolute anguish in 'theme for lester young' at the other end, Oscar peterson always sounds happy. you ...
