Re: Fallout 3!

Wow, my first post here on the XKCD boards in a while. I'll have to change that, since y'all are made of awesome. So I'm going through Fallout 3 again, and in a quick browse around for any game-breaking entertainments (Hey, it's what you do on the second play, right?) I've come across a number of in...

Mine...isn't exactly that complicated. I bought a camera, and have spent a year thoroughly succumbing to the photography bug. I like to think I'm reasonably good at it, too.

Y'all can buy prints if you like. *wink wink nudge nudge falls off the couch*

I've never worked retail (as in a big-box store), but I have done some stints as a salesperson. I worked for [Highly Compressed Crystalised Carbon Border-Spanning] for about four months - in this case it wasn't necessarily the customers who were annoying (In fact, many of them were quite pleasant) -...

Re: overly bassy sound systems

I loves me some bass. And lots of midrange. Treble's great, too. It's been my experience that many speaker systems - including some really quite expensive ones - are often tuned inside their cabinets to have an abnormal amount of bass in their response plot. This isn't necessarily bad - quite a lot ...

Re: Lighting Fixtures and energy usage

Flickering lamps can be either a sign that the lamp themselves are going bad, or the ballast is wearing out. As the gasses are energized during startup/strike, they do consume more energy - but as soon as the gasses are energized, the power draw plateaus at a much lower level. If the ballast is unab...

The rain here is more than what you could easily deal with via an umbrella, I'm afraid. I've seen the plastic baggies you can wrap your camera in and while those would probably work better, they don't seem to be large enough to handle long zoom lenses. :( I'm also planning on doing some shooting on ...
