Re: 1223: "Dwarf Fortress"

In DF, the player can only suggest what the dwarves do... what they choose to do is their own decision. If we choose to play DF instead of the tasks assigned to us by our overseers, does this mean that they've failed?

Thoughts on the cloud: I still woefully distrustful of the cloud. I've been a heavy internet user for over a decade, and yet as I find myself more mobile I find myself less connected to the internet - and so less reliant on information only accessible from the net. Good code is code that performs some useful task.

Bad code is difficult to understand and maintain.

Good code and turn into bad code overnight when the requirements change.

Good and bad make can be very subjective.

This thread made me laugh because;
- his parents disowned him for being clever
- the number of people wouldn't understand this joke brings me back to the days when I enjoyed XKCD

The comic was unfunny.

The altered comic with the BP reference about drowning in oil was much better.

I thought of DF before LoTR.

XKCD is becoming more of a barometer for internet feeling now rather then new stuff.

I preferred it when it was original content, rather then writing down what "we all knew".
