Re: Bon Iver

I saw them live in Milwaukee, on Bon Iver Day no less. Great music, great venue, great atmosphere. Easily one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Being a Wisconsinite, I've been digging them for a few years now. Self-titled is an awesome album, maybe even better than FEFO.

Re: Are you Ready for some "Football"!!! NFL Discussion

Now the season looks like it will actually happen, I'm curious if anyone would be interested in an XKCD Fantasy Football League? I've played fantasy football with folk from another forum for the last 5-6 years, but my league there looks like it's not happening this year, so I wondered if maybe we c...

People might be overreacting to this. After all, Miller bought Leinenkugel's when they were just starting to do craft beers, and they're still around producing quality brews.

This isn't a series where I can peg anyone into tiny alignment slots. It's like the real world that way, where people do both good and horrific things, and they're both part of their personalities. See Catelyn Stark or Jaime Lannister.

As a Packer fan, I don't find this to be that big a deal. Everyone knows our finances, because like half the city's an owner of the team and it's therefore a public record.

Well, this is by far the most worked up I've ever seen my state. Everyone's divided and it's getting hard to talk to people who don't believe the same you do. There's no rioting yet, and most people are playing nice while protesting. On both sides. I'm in Milwaukee, which is definitely not the cente...

Damages to Capitol [might cost] $7.5 million ... so much for peaceful protest. This figure just got edited down to $375 thousand. Still a lot, but nowhere near that first estimate. And yeah, it's fucking COLD here. On a nice day it gets up to 40 or 45 F this time of year. Which puts a massive dampe...

I've tried SotC, and I just didn't like it. Aspects are fine and cool, but everything else about the system didn't agree with me. The skills, all those stunts that seemed more to limit the people who didn't have them than enable those who did. It was sold to me as a rules-light narrative game, but i...

I have Freemarket, actually. It's strange - very game-y, actually - but it ended up being a lot of fun. We were a posthuman rock band who built and destroyed in conjunction with the music we were playing.

Being the Wisconsin guy that I am, "beer" and "Spotted Cow" are near synonymous. Spotted Cow has to be the single most overrated beer ever. It isn't good. It isn't even anywhere close to the best beer New Glarus makes(Fat Squirrel, although not the best, is so much better). Spot...

What you rolled a 20? Red Dragon. Tough luck level 3 party. TPK. Maybe someone can answer this for me: why don't players run away? Is it because other DMs have 'trained' them not to? Dragons can fly a lot faster than most low level dudes can run. And fleeing doesn't stop an encounter from being a T...
