Re: Police misbehavior thread

If you can't provide crucial evidence/testimony that was ignored in the trial, it just sounds like you're pissed about the verdict. Yes, and? Disagreeing with verdicts you find unjust in a state with a bullshit justice system is a totally reasonable thing to do. I'm not calling for the cops to knoc...

It's mostly come into vogue in the past year or so, as far as I can tell. Trayvon Martin is when I first really noticed its racially skewed usage.

Even my very conservative friends have mentioned to me that they've seen the word thug used almost exclusively to describe black people in the past year. Lagunitas Daytime IPA: Love the fragrance, but otherwise this brew is very meh. It's got hop presence but very little backing it up. I get that the goal here is a drinkable, moderate ABV IPA, but it doesn't matter how drinkable a beer is if I don't want to drink it. I don't know why BA likes it so ...

The Sodom and Gomorrah reference always makes me chuckle a bit, because it means these people aren't even very familiar with the Bible. "This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy" - Ezek...

Re: Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy

I find beers that market their added flavors tend to get old pretty quickly. Mostly because they seem geared towards people who don't like beer, so they mask it rather than compliment it.

Still love a good flavored stout but it has to be balanced.

I can say from experience that they're easier to chain smoke without thinking about it, since you don't have to keep lighting up to keep smoking. It's a suspension of flavor and nicotine in a food-grade viscous liquid that gets vaporized so it looks and feels like smoke. It isn't entirely like smoking but it's close enough to make a decent substitute, I'd say the difference is kind of like artificial sugar vs the regular stuff.

I find IBUs to be a pretty worthless measure for determining how bitter a beer will taste. Green Flash's Hop Head Red is listed at 70, but it tastes more bitter to me than their West Coast IPA, which is listed at 95.

Stone's coconut IPA collab with Rip Current (which is also probably my favorite new San Diego brewery) is pretty great if you ignore the fact that it tastes almost nothing like coconut. Apparently it came out a lot more in the trial batch, according to my friends who work there.

So do you just throw random mathematical concepts together until you find a coincidence you find interesting?
