But if the US finds itself having to leverage its military and economy just to get its "allies" to help with anything, the US's dominance will be much reduced. And if the US seems unreliable then other countries will make arrangements that simply put the US less at the centre of everything.

The first time people didn't want to discuss it because it didn't really relate to the discussion that much and seem like a deliberate derailing. Because the current situation in the US isn't *any* of the proposed options. So it was like, "any really - they're all better".

Having followed the development of 1.13, I'd wait till 1.13.1 comes out to be safe. There's a LOT of under the hood re-engineering in this version which for such an old world as the xkcd server, would definitely be better to wait for all the kinks to be worked out.
