Re: Malaysian Airplanes

I'm involved in the search for QZ8501. It's safe to say that it's been found. Don't quote me, but the stall theory is the strongest we've got right now. And that article... is 100% bullshit. I could go through and comb through the insanity it says, but I'd rather not when I'm watching families wait ...

Re: MH17 Shot Down Over Ukraine-Russian Border

Most flights connecting Europe and Southeast Asia/Australia go through there, it's going to bottleneck the region. It's going to have a strong effect on air travel if we start closing off airspaces more preemptively when conflicts break out... Isn't that what normally happens? Flying through a war ...

MH17 Shot Down Over Ukraine-Russian Border

CNN source

MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was apparently shot down. Not clear who did it, but consensus says it was probably shot down from all we know about the wreckage and behavior prior to the crash.

Other flights going through the region have been told to avoid the airspace.

TrueCrypt stops development . I find this really sad, because their offered alternative (encryption provided by the OS) doesn't really cover all the use cases of TrueCrypt. Most worrying is this: The caller could face multiple charges and may also be required to foot the bill for Tuesday’s police response, which is estimated at $100,000. Isn't that a classic example of the (very wrong) Eggshell skull doctrine ? I actually found this to be a pretty fair number. The FBI...

Pant.

Old-style article name:

EvilCorp launches Superhuman, a deadly humanoid robot with 20 guns

Clear, crisp, says everything you need to know in the headline.

Newer-style article name:

This robot has 20 guns!

Re: Flight from Malaysia disappeared

It's just easier to find the general area where it fell, deploy ships, locate it, and fetch it near the rest of the (also very useful to recover) wreckage. Making it float would make it much easier to toss around and get swept away by strong currents, potentially get damaged by passing boats or hitt...

So PHP has (at least) 2 ways of combining arrays. Both sound completely unambiguous: $a + $b; // because only strings can't be added together, who'd need that use case?  array_merge($a, $b);  But this is PHP - consistency has no place here!
