Re: Apple launches iPad tablet

The detractors of this product are missing the point. If you need to have full functionality from your portable computer 100 percent of the time then fine, get a freakin' laptop. But for a lot of people we don't need to have Photoshop, Illustrator, Specialty program of your choice, at our fingertips...

This product will sell amazingly well because it does everything most people use a computer for. Hawknc was dead on. Most people don't want to deal with what they see as hassles of a full blown computer. All they want is a device to browse the internet, check their email/facebook/myspace/twitter, wa...

Re: Assassin's Creed 2

I quite enjoy the game. My biggest gripe though is that there isn't as much of a sense of urgency when being chased by guards. In the first one I recall moments when I was jumping all over the freaking Middle East with the fuzz hot on my trail but in this one I'll have at most three guards chasing m...

I actually had to read this book for my sci fi and futurism class. My professor is fluent in Russian and goes back to the mother land once a year. He was able to pick apart some of the translation but I think he was just doing it to show off. Also, as far as the "Chalk of Destiny" goes, it...

This isn't a completely foreign situation for America. Remember an event back in the 30's called THE GREAT DEPRESSION? Roosevelt tried the exact same thing we're doing now and called it The New Deal. It did the exact opposite of what it was designed to do and actually lengthened and worsened the dep...

Unintentionally, Spill Wooner may have provided us with a solution, as not all of us think that the only thing wrong with Africa is a lack of education. With mountains, deserts, and jungles separating Africa interior from the rest of the developed world, why should they develop? They stagnate where...

High explosives. And/or duct tape. I thought those were the accepted solution to any problem. Did this comment really add anything to this disussion? I didn't think so. Well, even in the "a lot" you'd still have to explain why other nations that have seen war and despotism in other parts of the world aren't in the same situation as Africa is. Take for example Chile, which had a terrible dictator for many, many years, or the former Yugoslavia, that had wa...

Well now that I'm married I don't just have to come up with the means to implement a ball pit but I also have to convince my better half that we should do it. It's just the two of us living in a 3 bedroom place so we have the space to do it. I'd just have to get rid of my love sac.

Token made a good point about cutting all non-meal eating. I took it one step further and cut all non-table eating. It's a lot easier to snack when you're reading, watching tv, or surfing the internet. If you have to stop what your doing in order to get a snack and eat it then you're(hopefully) much...

The reason I used to snack all day was because I was bored. Come up with something to occupy your time that will keep your mind and hands off the snacky snacks. Go outside and read a book, go for a walk or bike ride, pretty much do anything that gets you away from the kitchen.

On a similar note I wonder how many pizzas you have to order for delivery before they question you? Anyway, update: After the Boston trip, I seem to have gained 5 pounds.
