Re: 1479: "Troubleshooting"

I worked at a law firm as a SysAdmin with 12 devs that constantly developed all our in-house apps, that were used for almost everything the law firm did. No one could ever figure out why, but on a particular form there were notes that would open in their own window (but not way to use the Move optio...

This is a screenshot I took from a few years ago, it is not photoshopped:

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

Who made that limitation?

Oh, another incorrect assumption. Keep trying I guess, you'll get it eventual... wait, with those assumptions, no... no you won't. Ever. :P

(Also, extra bits are extra bits regardless.)

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

This calculation is utter bullshit. Why? Because you said so? :?: You are right though... I extremely underestimated the key space size (see end of response to you.) Did you even read the discussion? The comparison was between a password including a unicode character input via Windows alt-code and ...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

How is that more effective than just including "alt0151" or whatever at that point in your password? With the added benefit that it'll still work for password fields that don't accept full unicode input. This was pretty effectively covered. It provides a much larger key space per characte...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

Well, a bit delayed, mostly because I forgot I posted here... :D Insert random unicode into your passwords Sure, and then be unable to login quickly and securely on another computer. Never had a problem with it. No, I do not copy paste it from somewhere, I do know my password. :) Well, ALT+[four num...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

Insert random unicode into your passwords, it significantly increases the keyspace, and I know of no brute-force cracker that even attempts to search higher than the ASCII keyspace. Meaning it will literally never brute force your password. At one point at my previous job we pulled the SAM database ...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

I once encountered a site where the password had to be exactly 10 characters. Worst thing ever. I've got a trump for you: There's a site, that includes tons of private information, that I had me: "Please change your password, user passwords must be unique." That's right, it just told me t...
