That's why it was so devastating to me. Penny dies thinking that Dr. Horrible killed her, but Captain Hammer, the fucking tool, is going to save her. And Billy can't do a thing to change it. That said, the climax did suffer from "If You Would Have Just Shot The Damn Guy Already Instead...

I never said it was realistic. Rewatching it I can see how the ending works, on an intellectual level. I get the point. And I like endings like this - I mean, 1984 is my favorite book. But man, I feel like I've been sucker punched. Acts I and II set me up for something else, I guess.
