Re: Med School tips?

I'm just a lowly undergrad, but I'd like to tell you that practice tests are good for readying you for the format of the actual test. They haven't often been good indicators of how well I do on tests however. My practice GREs all came out rather average, but my actual GRE was pretty spectacular. I'v...

Applying Grad School in Chemistry

Hey all, I'm a Senior finishing up my Bachelor's degrees both in Chemistry and Mathematics at a small liberal art college. I'm highly considering going for my Ph.D. in either Chemistry or Materials Science Engineering here in the US. I've been making all of the steps that my professors have been tel...

The best advice I can give you is to take the shotgun approach. My professors have told me to apply to as many as possible, as early as possible. Thus far I have applied to 9 REU programs in hopes of doing nuclear or inorganic chemistry. I've applied for both big and small schools. I've also applied...

Re: How often do you shower or bathe?

I usually take a short ( <5min) shower every day. I'll wash my hair twice a week and those will translate to (<10min). I live in the eco-dorm at uni and we conserve the heck out of water, probably to a bit of an extreme. I don't often take baths, but those are more for pleasure, rather than cleaning...

Liberal Arts all the way. You won't end up doing any really cool stuff in the sciences until you hit Grad School anyway. Undergrad is the time to explore.
