How to "buff" up my arms

I'm not fat but I am overweight, a little. My arms look KINDA flabby, but nothing you can actually notice. Even if I'm not wearing a shirt it just looks like I have no muscle, and it doesn't look fat (however it doesn't look skinny either). I'm wondering, will doing 50-100 push-ups nightly help beef...

Are satires allowed for research papers?

I have to do a research paper (well, I did it already) and I made it a satire. I still did all my research, it's just satirical. For those of you who wish to read it: ------ Marijuana legalization has been a topic long debated in the United States of America, and it is high time it stops permanently...

Re: Budget Cut at my HighSchool, AP classes being Cut

Anyone who thinks that schools shouldn't have 'smart' and 'dumb' classes is a fucking retard and should go fuck themselves. AP classes should be the last things they cut, meaning sports and extras should go first. Even if the majority of the kids don't take the AP classes, they are still essential t...

the SAT

I have an SAT coming up this saturday and I'm getting pretty pissed off about it. I've been doing several practice tests and so far they've all come up pretty random (my grades, I mean.) Most of it is just luck, like, if the test is easy or if it is hard. None of the 'hard' questions were hard to me...

The treadmill

I'm 16 and 155 pounds, and 5'5. and I want to lose some weight. If I run on a treadmill for an hour a day at medium-semi-fast speed every day, how fast will I lose weight? I'm not planning on watching my diet really hard, but I'm gunna cut down on some snacks and unhealthy stuff I'd normally eat bet...

Personally I like Stewart more. I just think he's funnier, and it's a show that I can watch at 11 at night. When I try to watch both shows in a row, it seems like Colbert is just copying the Daily Show word for word (as in, use the same news segements, but then again, what other news can they report...

Re: Has College Been Glorified?

the real question is it it that hard to get into college? I get A's in my honors/regents classes and B/B+'s in my AP classes and I have no doubt that I will get a decent score on the ACT and SAT (1900+ on the SAT). but i have no extra curriculars.

Sex Feat Wonder

I know this show's been on DVD for a while but I just watched the entire series and I have to say it was one of the best dramas I've ever seen on TV. Season 1 especially was one of the best seasons of tv I've ever seen, and there were several episodes where I had to hold back tears. (specifically wh...

Re: Standardized tests... thoughts, opinions, ideas?

Meh it's a toss up. On one hand mutli-choice tests like one in History or English don't really help; when are you going to NEED to know about the french revolution or some book you read besides in A) the class and B) if you choose to go into the history or English field. Then again that could be sai...

Re: The Who

I really think most 'classic' bands are just mediocre to O.K, but the Who is by far my favorite; better than Led Zepplin. I love many of their songs, like most of them, and only some of them I think are just o.k. Very good band.

It's a fucking hilarious show, and even though the 3rd season was lacking compared to the 1st and 2nd, the 4th is right up there. It's in no way funnier than the Office, but it's probably in the top 5 or 10 tv shows of today (that are still running new seasons)

Re: Is my Personal Narrative too risky?

Well, one of the main focuses of AP Language is to develop writing skills (I took it last year, I can testify to that), and creative writing is definitely a part of that, so the essay fits, assuming you can spin it the right way. These kinds of essays are essentially tightropes: there's a very, ver...

Is my Personal Narrative too risky?

edit: whoops. Is this in the wrong forum? It deals with English. I wrote a personal narrative for English, and I don't know if it's too risky or not. It has both things a personal narrative needs to have: An experience and a deeper meaning. It's somewhat informal, but then again it is a story, and m...

I doubt many of you have seen this, as it was only in limited release a few months ago and hasn't gotten any true media attention; but trust me, this is a good one. A simple, fun, and quite addicting Tower Defense game. I got up to the 70th wave, which is only 20 away from the creator's top score. I warn you though: IT GETS HARD.
