Re: Tractor? I hardly know 'er!

The tractor:
  • was towed across by the polar bear
  • was lifted across by the smoke monster
  • was warthog-jumped across using dynamite from the Black Rock
  • will be explained in Season 6.

Re: XKCD PSN/XBL/Wii/Steam/Specific Game IDs

My Steam ID is BizBoz.

ST, your puppy is in the post. Not having an address I just coded a Hilbert curve on the envelope. May take a while in transit so I sealed it up securely. Apropos of nothing, are puppies the ones that do or don't need food & air?

Cheers,
Tim

Re: Sociopaths and prisoners

I wrote it up a little quickly, so it can certainly be improved on, but here goes... Which of the following statements -- if any -- are logically equivalent? a) sociopaths are more common in prison than outside of prison b) sociopaths are more likely to be in prison than outside prison c) sociopath...

Re: Battle of the *langs

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_YHALnLV9XU Very good clip, I enjoyed watching it. Me too. I recognise his description of the experience of being a foreigner, although he was talking specifically about the difficulty of English, and I personally enjoy the feeling of being out of my depth. I also like...

Re: Battle of the *langs

I can't work up any enthusiasm for artificial languages. The reason I like learning (tiny, tiny fragments of) foreign languages is because then if you manage to go to the right country and say the right thing -- you get a drink! Or a meal! Or to know where the hell you are! Or... well you get my dr...

Re: Battle of the *langs

I learned some Latin and less Greek at school. The languages themselves are useless and I don't generally acknowledge having any because of the tiresome micturation tournaments that often result -- people who have the same vague schooltime memories as me, trying to leverage their fading knowledge in...

What do you get for lesnerizing?

As to rule 34: porn of "not thinking about The Game" ought to be all porn shouldn't it, especially for consumers? Or perhaps thinking furiously about The Game is used as a delay technique.

Re: Only you can save the world. You have one year. Go.

Evil aliens have beamed a message into your mind, warning you that they are planning to destroy the Earth one year from today. That's right, but how the hell did you know that unless you're working with them? Damn, this thing must go all the way to the top. It's all right though chaps, I've saved t...

Re: Puzzle for exceptional intelligence

Bit of a latecomer but based on the answers above I think I re-found the image on the same site at http://www.badongo.com/pic/3123543 . A note at the bottom claims that LKJ isn't right, but is written by someone who doesn't know what the expected answer is . Probably a coincidence but the QPONM all ...

Re: "Fuck Grapefruit" Discussion

So here I am joining a forum just so I can speak up for... various... fruit? Could grapefruit vs banana be the next emacs vs vi? 1 - Coconuts: easy - choose one with plenty of milk, drill out 2 or all 3 soft spots and drain/drink the milk. Then lightly toss the nut just over your head letting it dro...
