Re: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Never mind the ethics of obliviation, my main problem with the film was that it just wasn't good story-telling. For example, we know the protagonist likes beasties, but are we ever given a clue as to why? Maybe a childhood scene of him playing with the beasties, for example? No, it's just his Thing...

Re: Does eating food measurably affect body temperature?

According to wikipedia body temperature does increase after eating. It doesn't say by how much but if you run a trial you'll find out if it's measurable. If I were you I'd measure my own temperature before and after each meal from now on to see what you can expect as a result. Get some family member...

Re: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Imagine someone coming up to you at a bar and flirting with you, and you start dating, and it goes wonderfully, everything they say is charming, you have so much stuff in common, you've never had a spark like you had with that person. And then you find out it's not because they're magically (no pun...

Spoilered for non serious business. What I'm trying to underline here is that my family is not operating in the same America that I am. Are you saying your parents live in House of Cards' America? Here's a captain awkward post/letter/article? about boundaries that might apply to your situati...

Yeah it seems pretty endless this way. But I like the idea of a Wikipedia game. What if we had multiple hidden targets?

The first team A player puts 5 targets in a spoiler, idem for team B. Any target gets a point.

Re: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

The implications of memory modification (and mind control) are terrible in general and it would be interesting to see them adressed in-universe. The use of memory modification as damage control after magical incedents doesn't bother me too much though. When a dragon in London becomes a carcrash no '...

I am halfway through the show and I like it a lot so far but its starting to lose steam a little. There's also the fact that a lot of sewage efluent flows into rivers instead of directly into ocean, so concentrations will be higher there.
