Admittedly, I could have reduced that to 5 : 7, but that would have made the significance of that ratio even more obscure.

That's just the way I saw it; I experienced a full-on gestalt shift when i read CB's post. Nevertheless, looking at it again, the occlusion of her ponytail suggests an unnatural amount of neck rotation if we're really seeing her back. Mainly I just wanted to riff on the handshake thing, though. Yea...

In the context, you seemed to be arguing that "even if souls do/did exist, that doesn't/wouldn't allow people free will, because the soul would be controlling the person, not the person being a free-willed-thing itself". I don't understand why you would make that argument if, when that ar...

Yeah, that's the big difference to me. Ignoring stochasticity, because it's more obviously irrelevant.... Determinism is not fate, it is not an outside force, and it's still orthogonal to any question about "free will" that has meaning on a human level and 99% of the arguments historically...

The fact that you don't know what you're going to choose doesn't mean your choice is free in any satisfying sense of the word. I honestly think it does, but that just goes back to LaserGuy's response that "free will" is too poorly defined to argue about in this sense. Because at that poin...

It's not a term that makes a lot of sense to me, either, it just seems to be the one in currency. It doesn't in any way resemble a hamburger to me. That'd have the top and bottom rounded, at least. The serious answer is that the actual reviews (I mean, the ratings that include text content) mostly review it in its capacity as a sightseeing destination. There are a lot of 1s and 5s in the naked ratings, but they aren't all 1s and 5s, so my guess would be that those really are intended in the sa...
