Re: I need a Game Recommendation (Recently renamed)

Hello again! I'm looking for something like the Devil May Cry series, but not as hard. I have this urge to play an action game where you can pick your style of play and unlock skills as you go along that style. An equipment system would be nice, but I find it rather unenjoyable when you have to spe...

Accelerando? It already has a talking cat (and magnificent bastard) in it called "Aineko". I forgot about that one... or maybe I hadn't read it yet at the time... Either way, definitely a good choice. It's spiritual successor "Glasshouse" would work quite well too. Man in a woma...

Re: What are you readioactive now(and other book related stuff)?

I just finished Enders Game by Orson Scott Card. Interesting read. How long did it take you finish? I know a couple of people who claim the only way to read it is in one sitting. I don't have the time to read almost any book in one sitting so I've never accomplished this feat. I didn't do it in a s...

I been on EvE maybe 5 or 6 hours in the last month. I like it because I have plans to play more in the future and I don't have to sacrifice character improvement just because I can't play much now.

Well, there is the Baroque Cycle. It's by the same author, only set in the Scientific Revolution era. I'm more of a sucker for the computer stuff. I haven't read books 10 & 11 in a while, but the rest of the series I have read through 4 times... The most recent reading last fall (a book a week). I am really looking forward to reading the Gathering Storm; it has been too long since a new WoT book has been out.

Re: What are you readioactive now(and other book related stuff)?

Managed to avoid Twilight so far. This week I finished The Atrocity Archives (Charles Stross in his clever and funny mode), and read Niven and Pournelle's Escape from Hell . I found the former a charming mashup of a deconstructed spy novel, computer geek-fiction and Lovecraftian horror. Very highly...

My corp was in a WH for a while but we didn't have many industry types and a lot of the PvP/PvE pilots were fairly new so sleepers were a bit of a pain. The skill and cost that goes into a salvager is pretty negligible. You need Science IV for a tractor beam, which also cost about a mil apiece. All-in-all i'd be surprised if my salvager Cormorant cost me 3mil and took more than four days of training. Hmm... I may just have to do that then. I would ...

Just finishing the Nights Dawn trilogy. Well done in the imagining a future universe. Utterly fails in the writing believable characters and story. It took me 1.5 books 1,800 pages to get mildly into it and it still has slowdowns. By far the slowest read Ive done in a long time. After than the moon...
