Re: Stealth Bastard

I've finished the regular campaign, and I liked it a lot. The level design was good, and it had some good puzzles. The only really bad thing I have to say about it is that it is possible to get into unwinnable states sometimes, even to have it checkpointed in an unwinnable state, which definately su...

This game looks sweet. Haven't played it yet, but I'm a sucker for indie platformer games. I'm hoping the "bastard" part implies difficulty.

Re: Team Fortress 2

The Enforcer is ridiculously good and I'm sure it will be nerfed soon. I was playing Dead Ringer + Enforcer spy just now and comfortably top scored in a game with some really good players. Most of the time I didn't even bother to disguise unless I had to take out a sentry or something, I just ran in...

Anyway, I've been coaching one of my friends. He's decided to go Demo, and I've been giving him advice that will be incredibly useful seeing as I only ever play Demo on Degroot. Help? Re: Screechings of the Great Unwashed (Pander to the Borg)

Somewhat ninja'd, but anyway. Yeah, I think I visualize things similarly to Ortus and KestrelLowing. If I think of, say, a red house, I get a sort of an image, but it doesn't have much in the way of details and I have to concentrate to keep the 'image'. The black with vague hints of color that I usu...

I played a game on dustbowl a while ago where I was on BLU attacking the last point of the last stage. The other team had 4 or 5 engis all with wranglers sitting behind the point. We had about 20 minutes for that point and we were barely able to cap it in time due a coordinated sapping spree + uber ...

I agree with most of what BurningLed said, but I'll throw in my 2c on a few weapons. Scout: Mad Milk is pretty cool. I wouldn't consider it a strict upgrade over the pistol but it's definitely worth trying. The Holy Mackerel > Bat if you like sillyness in your TF2. Heavy: GRU > Fists IMO, since you'...

Re: Team Fortress 2

I haven't tried it yet, but I love the change to the flaregun. It's exactly what I thought they should do. Flareing people is so fun, but it was very underpowered compared to the other weapons. It's not like a 45-damage minicrit for hitting twice was even that much. The backburner change is pretty i...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

So a bunch of asian cards from New Phyrexia have been leaked , translations are here . There's a quite a few interesting cards. Phyrexian Canceller looks extremely broken. A 5/5 trampler for 4 with a really good ability? Yeah... He can probably only be reliably played on T4 in mono-black though. Kar...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

The deck you're talking about is basically Kuldotha Red , by the way. As has already been mentioned, Ratchet Bomb and Pyroclasm are great. Other good options are Arc Trail, Forked Bolt, Slagstorm and Black Sun's Zenith. Shrivel and Marsh Casualties are okay, but are not as flexible as BSZ. Ratchet B...

Re: DOUBLE STARCRAFT!! ACROSS THE ENTIRE INTERNET! O M G!

Ugh, it looks like Blizzard broke SC2 with the latest patch. After not playing for about 2 months, I had to download a 3rd party VPN program just to get the game to download new content. And now I still lag badly whenever I play online. Sigh.

If you're comparing the power of the sets, I don't think we should assume that the same restrictions as vintage has apply. You should be able to 4-of moxes, black lotus, time walk, ancestral recall etc.

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

I also went to two prereleases: one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I played an okay U/R Mirran deck in the first prerelease. The only really good rares I got were Steel Hellkite and Cryptoplasm, but I had a fair number of nice red removal spells. I ended up going 3-2, and got 2 boosters. The second ...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Also, I think people might be making too many broad assumptions about the phyrexian side, and about playing infect in limited in general. Drafting Scars, for example, I would occasionally end up with a deck with some mix of infect cards and non-infect cards. It was never the pre-determined "OM...

Re: magic cards dumped; general magic discussion ensues

Has anyone thought about which side to pick in the upcoming prerelease? It looks like the metagame is going to be predominantly Phyrexian, but I'm not so sure that Phyrexian is a good idea. The likelihood of getting stuck with an awkward half-infect, half-normal deck seems moderately high. On the o...

Re: What would you do if time travel was real?

I'd do something similar to Neuman. I'd go far enough into the future to the point where medicine/technology can make humans live for ever, or for very, very long. Then I'd go way back in time and play god.

Also, time travel is real, though not in the way envisioned in this thread.

I think each watch has its place. False.

You have 50dps, you are not going to kill the engineer with noscopes.
I've killed plenty of people with noscopes. All it takes is that they miss a couple times and you don't. Sure it's not fantastic, but it's hardly useless.

Don't rely much on disguises to avoid detection because there are many ways a skilled player can tell a spy from a teamie. It's much better to not be seen at all if possible.
